Jennifer Garcia is a Harlem-based multi-disciplinary art director whose work has been featured in design, lifestyle and art publications such as ìDeathî by artist collective Faile, Soda Magazine, Animal Magazine, Fasthetic, Mass Appeal, 200% Cotton, 300% Cotton, DVD Art and Street T. She has art directed national ad campaigns for corporations and charitable organizations, designed street wear graphics, art catalogs, music and DVD packaging, and has created a line of dolls made from recycled fabric scraps. In 2004, she independently launched the annual limited edition T-shirt and zine project, Star Electric Eighty Eight aka SEEE. Conceptual in nature, SEEE T-shirts have been sold in designer boutiques worldwide including Beams-T in Japan and at the New Museum of Contemporary Art store in NYC. To date, SEEE T-shirts have been featured in the NY Times, Complex Magazine and on Josh Rubinís influential Coolhunting website. Exhibitions featuring Miss Garciaís work include ì8.5x11î and ì2StepsBackî (55DSL) and ìTo a Teeî (Museum of Design, Atlanta). Jennifer was recently commissioned by Change Design in Venice, Italy to create a mural alongside artists Dave Kinsey, Abel and Marc Cabrera. A new commission by Kidrobot for a custom ìDunnyî is also in the works.
